Tritones: The tritone, which derives its name from the fact that it spans three whole tones, is a musical interval of six semitones. Two tritones add up to an octave. An augmented fourth or diminished or flatted fifth is a tritone. It is abbreviated as π. One of the two strong dissonances in the diatonic scale, it was called diabolus in musica ("the Devil's interval") by some from the early music era to the baroque period.
Introduction to poetry-
I ask them to take a poem and hold it up to the light like a color slide
or press an ear against its hive.
I say drop a mouse into a poem and watch him probe his way out,
or walk inside the poem's room and feel the walls for a light switch.
I want them to waterski across the surface of a poem waving at the author's name on the shore.
But all they want to do is tie the poem to a chair with rope and torture a confession out of it.
They begin beating it with a hose to find out what it really means. -Billy Collins
"I'll grow a beard and carry lovely bombs, I will destroy the world, slip in between The cards of death And change the Universe -- Ha! I have the secret, I carry Subversive salami in My ragged briefcase 'Garlic, Poverty, a will to Heaven,' A strange dream in my meat" -Ginsberg
